Who we are
American Scapegoat is a website about law enforcement. It publishes discount information, a memorial page, wellness resources, and a page of good-news headlines. This policy describes what the public site does with information today.
Accounts and sales
There are no accounts. You cannot sign up, log in, or save a profile. The site does not sell products, take payments, or ask for a credit card, shipping address, or badge number. We do not sell personal information.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process IP addresses and request logs while it delivers the site, caches pages, and protects it from abuse. We do not run a separate analytics product, and the site does not set its own cookies.
Fonts
Pages load the Oswald and Barlow typefaces from Google Fonts. Your browser requests those files directly from Google (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). That request can include your IP address and ordinary browser details. We do not control how Google handles that request. No other third-party scripts, analytics tags, or advertising tags are loaded.
Information stored on your device
The site remembers scroll position in this browser tab so the Back button can return you to the same place on a page. That record stays in session storage on your device for the browsing session. It is not sent to us as a profile, and it is not a cookie.
News and memorial feeds
Our server, not your browser, requests public RSS feeds so we can show headlines. The Not Baaad page uses Bing News search feeds. The Honoring the Fallen page uses the Officer Down Memorial Page feed. Those requests use a general browser description. They do not include your name or email address. Headlines are cached so the pages can load without fetching the feeds on every visit.
Links to other sites
Many pages link away from American Scapegoat. Discount cards link to the companies that publish the offers. News headlines link to the original publishers. The memorial page links to the Officer Down Memorial Page. Wellness resources link to outside organizations. The footer links to our Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and X profiles. Those sites have their own privacy policies. We do not embed their content or their tracking tools, and we do not add affiliate codes to the links.
The Email us button does not show our address on the page. When you click it, your browser opens your own email program with the address filled in. That click is not sent to our server. If you send a message, we receive it in our email account and use it to read and reply. We do not add senders to a mailing list. Please do not include sensitive personal information you do not need us to see.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) limits the collection of personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Advertising
We do not show advertisements today. We may add advertising later, for example Google AdSense, which uses cookies. If we add advertising, we will update this policy to describe those cookies and the companies involved before or when the ads go live.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will post the new version on this page and change the effective date.
